Joanne Langton Joanne Langton has been a student of yoga for over 30 years. During this time she studied various styles of yoga and draws upon this wealth of experience to deepen her own practice and in her teaching. For the past 17 years while living in Byron Bay, she studied with many senior local and visiting teachers from traditions such as and Iyengar and Ashtanga. In her home town of New York City she studied with Senior Iyengar teacher Mary Dunn, at Kripalu in Massachusetts and at the Sivananda Ashram in India to name a few. She has also studied Buddhist philosophy and meditation in Asia, Australia and the United States. Her long time passion to teach yoga was finally fulfilled two and a half years ago after completing her training with Yoga Arts in Byron Bay, as well as many other complimentary courses and intensives. The following year Rachel Zinman returned to the Byron area with ISHTA yoga and Joanne was immediately drawn to it. For Joanne the attraction is the way it integrates many elements – the detailed understanding of the physical postures, the importance of meditation and the breath, the philosophical insights and the individuation that ayurveda brings – satisfies her desire as a teacher to convey yoga’s larger benefits and meanings. Joanne participated and assisted in the Byron Bay ISHTA System Yoga Teacher Training in April 2005 and went on to partcipate and assist in the Advanced ISHTA System Apprenticeship in 2005 and 2006. As well as teaching on the Byron Bay ISHTA System Yoga Teacher’s Trainings , she holds regular classes and courses in Byron and Mullumbimby. Ishta Yoga with Joanne Langton

She has also partcipated in the Advanced ISHTA System Apprenticeship with Rachel Zinman in 2005 and 2006 “My own teaching philosophy is that everyone should be encouraged to learn and develop yoga at a pace that individually suits him or her. By doing so I am certain they will soon find the same level of satisfaction and reward that I have. I too of course, continue to grow along with the development of my classes and it gives me great pleasure to help others share the wonderful holistic health benefits yoga brings to us.” Ishta Yoga with Jacqueline Engelmann
Romina Di Federico Romina was first introduced to Yoga at the age of 6 when she mimicked the poses illustrated in her mum’s Swami Saraswati yoga book. It wasn’t until years later, in 1998, when she attended her first yoga class with Kristine Edwards, that her yoga journey really began. She always had a keen interest in sport and dance and completed her FIA certificate in 1997, working part time at a gym as a personal trainer. In 1998 whilst working in the sports industry for a large corporate company she spent her spare time taking dance and yoga classes, hiking and mountain biking. In 2000 she began attending classes with Simon Borg-Olivier at Yoga Synergy. During this time she attended various workshops with well-respected yoga practitioners. In 2002 to further pursue her interest in Yoga she set off for a trek through Nepal’s Everest region & travelled through India spending a month practicing Astanga at the Purple Valley yoga school. In 2004 she successfully completed the Yoga Arts Teacher Training certificate IV and immediately began teaching in Byron Bay and Brisbane.
