Balancing the chakras through Asana, Pranayama and Meditation , Kirtan and Vegetarian Feast
A 2-day workshop with rachel zinman and nyck jeanes
Sydney July 7-8, 2007
Chakras are said to be wheels of energy in our subtle body that hold physical, mental and emotional patterns that govern our daily life. Arranged vertically from base to crown, each Chakra is said to be in balance when our lives are flowing effortlessly. To balance one’s chakras, we can use a physical practice through asana and pranayama and a more spiritual practice though meditation, incorporating the Tantric tools of mantra (sound) and yantra (shape). When the chakras are balanced, we bring more peace, joy and love to our lives.
In this two- day workshop you will learn about the qualities of each chakra through simple yoga philosophy talks and gain solid tools to balance each chakra through specific asana, pranayama and meditation techniques.
The two days include:
* A strong Vinyasa style yoga practice emphasising specific areas of the body for balance and strength, accommodating all levels of practice and experience
* Guided Chakra balancing meditation
* Philosophy talks on the chakras
* Kirtan followed by a vegetarian buffet

Kirtan is a form of devotional yoga called Bhakti that celebrates the beauty of our connection to life and the bliss of unconditional love. In Sanskrit the word kirtan, means, "to repeat" and consists of mantras that are sung in call and response. Repeating the same sounds over and over can bring on a state of deep meditation where the participants experience the power of their own vibrations as well as feeling their inherent connection with others. Join Rachel and Nyck and discover the beauty and power of your own voice in an evening dedicated to the heart of peace.
